Dear Eastern Beaches Conservation Coalition (EBCC) Reader,

The EBCC wish to have you attend a meeting on Saturday March 27 at 10 AM. A notice is attached with the necessary information. It can be forwarded to anyone you wish to notify that would help us save Beaconia Beach, Beaconia Marsh and the Artesian Well from the excavation that has been started. Post the notice wherever you think people might see it.

This destruction of the marsh is threatening all the wildlife that normally inhabit it. There is the additional threat that this excavation is to be used for watercraft. This type of activity will kill birds and fish. It will end the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed on Beaconia Beach. Anyone who enjoys Beaconia Beach can expect a very different experience if we allow this developing to continue. Help us end the excavation.

We hope that you will be able to attend and show support for our cause. Our main purpose for this meeting is to generate membership and to update our progress. The purpose of membership is to purchase Directors Insurance. We have several investigations under way, and will have legal direction this week as to our next move. DFO and Water Stewardship have stopped the dig, but we need support to ensure that our battle will be won.

The province has provided us contacts that we will be in touch with once we have legal direction.

We have officially started using our own email address. We hope that you will feel free to use this email for any and all questions or information that you wish to bring to our attention. All Executive will be forwarded emails coming to this email address unless you specify otherwise.

Forward this to anyone who might be interested, whether local or not. We have supporters who are summer residents from all over the world on our email list. Memberships of $20 are open to all who wish to support our cause. Further information is available at http://www.EBconservation.ca or by contacting us. Memberships by mail can be sent to the address below and made out to the Eastern Beaches Conservation Coalition.
