Dear Beaconia Incident Coalition supporters and others, I am pleased to announce the first open public meeting of the Beaconia Incident Coalition on March 6th at 2 PM at the Libau Community Centre (Click for Map). We only expect the meeting to last a couple of hours, but there is no restriction on time. We hope that all interested parties and supporters will make the extra effort to attend. The Beaconia Marsh is the Northern-most area of the Netley-Libau Marsh. It is very important part of the ecology, wildlife and survival of the marsh which is in a state of degradation. We do not need man to hurt it any further. Let us show officials how much this marsh means to us, what our concerns are, and how strongly we feel that this type of work should not be allowed without proper advance investigation. We have chosen the Libau Community Centre as a central location to make it as available to Winnipeg-based cottagers and supporters. It is located in Libau, just North of Hwy 59 at the entrance near the old gas station on the West side of the road. It is only a 1/2 hour North of the Permeter highway. We will review all that we know, and offer a chance to hear questions and suggestions from all supporters and attendees. This is your chance to be able to become involved, and be a part of saving the Beaconia Marsh from further destruction, and maybe even help to make the authorities aware of our desire to see it restored to its former condition. We encourage any authorities, officials and Municipal Councillors and/or representatives to attend to offer any support they can. It is an open meeting an nobody will be refused. It is important to know that the Libau Community Centre have offered us the hall at no charge. We sincerely thank them for that. We will be passing the hat to donate all funds to the community centre for their good will. Myself and the other organizers really hope you can all take the time to come and meet us, and encourage us to continue the good fight. There is nothing like a show of people to encourage a tough job to continue, and for you to meet us and know who you are really working with. Sincerely, Dave Crabb
